Tomato Chutney

Tomato chutney is spicy, tangy and tasty chutney made from tomatoes. Chutneys are commonly made in every Indian home. So there are many varieties of chutney along with the famous coconut chutney, even veggies and fruits are used to make chutneys. This is a very simple, quick dish you can make in 15 minutes.

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups chopped tomatoes or 2 organic tomato cans

  2. 2 teaspoons ginger

  3. 1 teaspoon minced garlic

  4. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric

  5. 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro

  6. 1 teaspoon chili powder

  7. salt to taste

Instructions

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the tomatoes, ginger, garlic, cilantro, chili powder and sprinkle some salt to taste. Simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until thick and saucy, about 15 minutes. Garnish with cilantro and serve with bread or rice. Enjoy!
