It also stops free radicals oxidizing “unhealthy “LDL” cholesterol in the blood and causing plaque build up on artery wall (atherosclerosis). Pomegranate are good for the health of your joints. Antioxidants flavonols have been shown to significantly reduce the activity of proteins that cause inflammatory conditions such as arthritis. Preliminary studies indicate that pomegranate extract, equivalent to one glass of juice) can block the production of an enzyme that destroys cartilage in the body.
Pomegranate also help in fighting infections, the juice has antiviral properties, and studies show that extracts of the fruit are effective against dental plaque. HOW TO GET THE BEST FROM THE FRUIT Eat the seeds, which also contain unsaturated fats, beneficial isoflavones, and other micro nutrients. As super fruit salad, combine pomegranate seeds with pear, pineapple, and orange slices, chopped fresh mint, and spinach. Drizzle with date syrup as a sweet dressing.
