Did you know Galentine’s started over 10 years ago as way to celebrate female friendship? It’s like Friendsgiving, but without the guys.

The best part about having true friends is that you can go months without seeing them and they’ll still be there for you and act as if you’d never left!

On February 14, I celebrated a GALentines brunch with all the amazing creative boss babes & extraordinary women + very special friends of Jacksonville. It was an AMAZING day full of great conversations, making new friends, eating delicious vegan food, desserts and sparkly bubblies and so many goodies. Loved how everything turned out. Read all the details and watch the hilite video below.

Here’s some tips and ideas on what I did for the party. Start with the guest list, closest friends that are near and dear to you. Let the invite to set your tone and colors. Have a fun theme. I asked the ladies to wear pink, white or floral and bring a sweet or savory dish to share with friends. So all the decor centered around these colors and flowers.

FOOD

The perfect Menu for “Galentine’s” Celebration calls for a yummy, guilt-free vegan sweet or savory dish everyone brought to share & celebrate with us. I served all the food in white different shaped bowls and risers. Here are the scrumptious fusion-food stations: – Chana Chickpeas Chaat – Homemeade Nutella, Sweet potato Hummus, Carnberry date Chutney, Spinach Artichoke dip, Tofu Egg Salad – Heart shape sandwiches – Tacos with potatoes, guacamole – Charcuterie fruit, veggie & nuts – Pakoras & Samosa w/chutneys – Variety of Hummus w/ pita chips – Lots of chocolate desserts – Apple strudel Mango Icecream – Mini bite-size cheesecake Masala chai

Heart Shaped Toast – I purchased heart shaped cutters from Homegoods in 3 sizes. Used these to cut the bread shapes out the night before and place them on a tray. Guests enjoyed some sweet and savory toppings on the toast.

Toppings: Avocado with Cumin + Turmeric, Cucumber, Home made Hazelnut Nutella, Fresh Fig Jam, Appled +Date + Cranberry Chutney +Falafel pita tabouleh tray

VEGAN NUTELLA RECIPE

What better way to share the LOVE than with homemade Nutella on Heart-shaped toast! Here’s a healthy version without additives, preservatives or chemicals.

  1. 1 cup toasted hazelnuts⁣

  2. 1½ tbsp cacao powder⁣

  3. 12 dates⁣ (remove pit)

  4. 1 cup water

Blend everything together and add some to toast or drizzled on a decadent dessert with your sweetheart, or this is perfect for a dessert station.

BAKED TAQUITOS POTATO TACOS

Crispy vegan baked taquitos which are super easy to make, gluten-free, and delicious. These meat-free tacos are filled with a yummy potato veggie mixture that is bursting with spicy flavors. I kept this as a station so everyone could add their potato filling and toppings – guacomole, mango salsa, chutneys, etc.

Enjoy this simple rolled taco recipe as a snack, dinner or side dish! Potatoes smashed, green peas, carrots and taco seasoning mix together and add filling in small tortilla roll and bake.

DESSERTS SO SWEET

Mouthwatering, delectable desserts dedicated to the entire table in the dining room. I created layers on the table with different shaped boxes and covered them with gold table cloth. I added gold pedestals and candle holders in different shapes and sizes to decorate the table. The Parsley Manor provided the silver and red chargers I placed pink paper plate on top with LOVE napkins to make the table setting look pretty. our friends from FlipperSplash brought the most delicious peanut butter chocolate heart shaped desserts.

DRINKS

The perfect “Galentine’s” Celebration calls for gorgeous and guilt-free cocktails, so I was excited to be using one of the prettiest ones yet thanks to Tost nonalcoholic ginger lemon drinks. Tost is the perfect flavored drink for guilt-free sipping. I served the drinks in colorful fusion filigree glasses.

Fresh lemonade and pomegranate water topped with fresh mint leaves.

I made my FAV flavorful masala chai that everyone loved. The secret ingredient for the chai is adding some star anise to the water and PG Tips brand tea bags. RECIPE for the Masala Chai

Photo Backdrop

A very special thanks to Kelly owner of Aura Staging and Design in Jacksonville for the beautiful, whimsical ribbon photo wall. The colors of the ribbons, peach, pink, white and silver shimmer were perfect for the theme I wanted to accomplish.

All the girlfriends LOVED it so much, and they wanted to take pictures in front of it. Kelly came out the night before the party and installed the backdrop in a few minutes. She used command hooks to install, super lightweight, easy and does not leave any marks on your wall.

Kelly added a stool to one side with a white furry rug and a disco ball to create more fun and complete the look.

Balloon Bouquet and Decor

I reached out to Desiree of The Parsley Manor Co. for the “LOVE” balloon cloud + some party decor after I had seen some amazing events she did on Instagram. They are an event planning and design company located in Jacksonville, Florida. She brought the colors to life by adding a colorful silver, white, pink and fuschia love balloon cloud.

We hung this over the staircase with invisible fishing line so it fell right above the arch in the foyer entry hallway. Desiree also brought candle holders, vases, silver, pink and white cake stands, plate chargers and food towers.

These extra colorful dishes added just the right amount of fun decor to the table settings and ambience. Desiree was so nice and friendly and was very flexible in meeting my last minute requests. Everyone loved the balloon bouquet and took tons of pictures under it.

Party Favors

Peterbrooke Chocolatier in Durbin Park, Jacksonville held their grand opening celebration. I went and met with the owner Denise. She was so wonderful, we talked about vegan chocolate and treats she makes in her store.

I tried their pretzels, vegan sorbets and vegan chocolate potato chips. The also offer gift boxes & popcorn, plus hand-dipped fruit, pretzels & cookies. Peterbrooke Chocolatier Durbin Park made us some SWEET vegan treat bags filled with vegan chocolate potato chips, dark chocolate and pretzels for all the guests.

We love to support our local businesses, please contact them for your party needs and follow them on social media!
