G-BOMBS Salad to Live For!

G-BOMBS is an acronym that Dr. Fuhrman uses to help us remember the foods that we need to make sure to eat every single day. If you eat all of these and nothing else, you will be eating a perfect Nutritarian diet. These foods are easty to remember and the best anti-cancer, health-promoting foods on the planet. These are the foods that you should eat every day, making up a significant proportion of your diet. They are extremely effective at preventing chronic disease, including cancer and promoting health and longevity. We make sure to have a large salad every night for dinner which includes all of the Greens, Beans, Onions, Mushrooms, Berries, seeds and we add variations daily with different fruits and vegetables that are in season. Enjoy!

  1. 2-3 hearts of romaine

  2. 1 big bunch of kale

  3. 1 cup spinach

  4. 1 cup raw broccoli slaw

  5. 1 cup purple cabbage

  6. 1 orange bell pepper

  7. 1 yellow bell pepper

  8. 1 red bell pepper

  9. 1 sliced red onion

  10. ¾ cup carrots shredded

  11. 1 cup fresh berries, strawberries or blueberries

  12. 1 can no sodium black beans or garbanzo beans or freshly cooked

  13. 5 ounces mushrooms any variety, water sauteed

  14. ¼ cup hemp seeds, chia seeds, flax seeds

  15. ¼ cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

Add all ingredients, to a large bowl or cutting board and chop until fine, as desired.

Using a large mixing bowl as a serving size, add 4-6 ladle fulls of salad to your bowl, drizzle with hummus or any homemade dressing. Enjoy!

G = Greens (any type of lettuce, spinach, kale, watercress, etc)

B = Beans and Legumes (any type at all, 1/2-1 cup per day)

O = Onions (a great anti-cancer fighting food, unlimited)

M = Mushrooms (another great anti-cancer fighting food, cooked, unlimited)

B = Berries (any types of berries, unlimited)

S = Seeds and Nuts (any type of raw nuts or seeds, in moderation, 1 oz per day)
