With the start of August we celebrate National Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Month. It’s perfect timing as the summer growing season is in full swing and there is an abundance of fresh produce available locally. The goal is to increase daily consumption of fresh produce. Add color to your meals during National Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Month. As the peak season for many early garden crops find their way into markets, it’s an excellent time to take advantage of these freshly picked fruits and vegetables from your local farmers. Listed below are some local and delivered produce from farmers that we have been enjoying this summer. Please follow and support them by making your produce purchase through them.
We love to support our local farmers and have partnered with several farms to bring you yummy, delicious ways to incorporate more greens in your diet daily. From Gyo Greens and Atlantic Beach Farms, to White Harvest Farms and produce delivery from Worthy Flavors and Saturiwa Trading Company, it’s all about eating your fresh fruits and vegetables.





Gyo Greens
Gyo Greens is a local farm in Ponte Vedra, Florida. We got a chance to visit with chef Rosaria and get a tour of the farm, learn it’s history as well as try some tasty greens, herbs and flowers.







They grow fresh, natural organic and delicious produce while educating our community about Aquaponics and sustainable farming. Here’s what you can purchase at their farm by placing an order on their website gyogreens.com. Listed below are the different produce bags they sell.
Immunity Kit – 8-10 oz of mixed greens, perfect for salad (1) 3-4 oz of Pea Shoots (2) 2 oz containers of assorted micros. Edible Landscapes – An assortment of 25 living herbs and lettuces. A great blend to cook with and toss into salads. Especially the lemon balm, red vein sorrel, mustards and some of the herbs. Salad blend -An assorted of freshly harvested greens to include: romaine, red vein sorrel, mezuna, soft kale, beet greens, chards packed with flavors.
Blended Micros – An assortment of brassica micros. Phytonutrient dense. Very mild and versatile. These blends have been in the immunity kits from the beginning of GYO Retail time.
Micro Red Basil – A heavily seeded sample size 4×4 with true bow tie leaf. slightly peppery with a strong basil finish. From Denmark and extremely versatile across all cuisine. Italian, Asian, Indian, fresh tomatoes, salad, sandwiches. 2 types of basils, micro parsley, micro arugula.
Home mixologist kit – This selection is perfect for tea, tisance, Agua Fresca, lemonades, and not just after hours drinks. Contains: lemon balm, Queen anne’s lace, red butterfly sorrel, mint, flowers, celery, chrysanthemum, bronze fennel, cardamom leaf ginger strips, petit celery.
Harvest bag – 3 types of radishes, a multitude of tomatoes, a few greens and herbs, a touch of micros.Basically, whatever is fresh and would make a great inspiration.
The Salad Bowl – There is 4-5 salads in this kit contains: sprouts, shoots, french radishes, heirloom tomatoes, micro stemmed celery, wild carrot, heirloom salad. Sprouts Trio – a sizable portion of pea, sunflower and radish sprouts under one roof. Great for any salad, sandwich, snack and entree.
Tokyo Bekana Blend- Half a tray, harvested, packaged Tokyo bekana blend. One of their highest sellers with nutritionists and holistic chefs. Edible Flowers 25 ct – An assortment of organic edible flowers (flower and buds only). Nasturtiums, violas, snap dragons, pansies.
Atlantic Beach Farms
An amazing Hydroponic farm in located in Atlantic Beach, Florida and has been here for almost 2 years. They grow the tastiest, non-GMO, pesticide-free lettuce, kale and arugula for our Farm Market customers. They also supply to some of Jacksonville’s top restaurants with greens and herbs.





They have a huge selection of produce with no chemicals, pesticides or herbicides, non-GMO, locally grown, fresh greens, herbs and seedlings + a small market with racks of items, fresh granolas, breads, and a glass front refrigerator with jams, jellies, balsamic vinegar & other delicious delights!



They are open for delivery or pickup visit to place your order. https://atlanticbeachurbanfarms.com We got to tour the farm with owner Tracey Westbrook and taste their delicious salad greens, granola, blueberry jam from their curated selection of gourmet food from fellow artisans. You can also order your own aquaponic tower garden through them.



White Harvest Farm
White Harvest Farms is an organic farm associated with the Clara White Mission. Sitting on part of a 11-and-a-half acre site off Moncrief Road in Jacksonville, Florida. They opened in 2012, the urban farm provides organic produce to the locals. The farm accepts volunteers during the open hours and hosts a market on Saturday’s from 10am-2pm. It’s their mission to increase access to fresh food to those in the area.
Clara White’s Mission White Harvest Farms not only is an actual farm within the community where you can volunteer your time in helping but also a market place for those in the neighborhood to buy fresh organic healthy produce!





We also loved their sunflower fields in full bloom, we can’t wait to go back.

We are so excited to share with you these delicious, healthy veggie kebabs that you can make with your kids with their favorite veggies or fruits. You can put these on the grill, bake in the oven or enjoy them raw dipped in some date chutney. (Recipe 10 dates blended together with 1 tspn of tamarind, 1/4 cup water). This is so delicious you’ll be licking the blender like we did.

How did the name Ribault Box come about? Ribault was the first European that came in to contact with Chief Saturiwa. The Ribault box was named after the great exchange between Ribault and Chief Saturiwa. Most of their produce are from Florida or Georgia. It is not a strictly local or organic box but, most items are. The object of the Ribault box is to provide the home cook with an arsenal of fresh ingredients to make plenty of meals with. You can also add on items to the order!
